Apache Capital has acquired its second development in the Oxbridge Arc from Valorem Investment Partners, with plans to deliver a £215m GDV smart-home rental site in central Bedfordshire.
The 168-acre site, which will be developed by Present Made and fully funded by Apache Capital, will be a net zero scheme. The plans also include the delivery of 650 smart homes – 35% of which will be affordable – an 87-acre country park for the community and a new primary school. The homes will be a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes. They will also be highly energy-efficient and developed using modern methods of construction. Richard Jackson, co-founder of Apache Capital and chief executive at Present Made, said: “Today’s announcement demonstrates the seriousness of our ambition in creating the UK’s leading purpose-built and designed single-family housing platform, delivering large-scale schemes using modern methods of construction and putting health, wellbeing and sustainability at the heart of our designs.” Anthony Maxwell-Jones, founder at Valorem Investment Partners, added: “We are delighted to have sold the property to Present Made having delivered a planning consent that will provide much-needed affordable housing, public open space within the country park and schooling for the local community.” Jo Cowen Architects has been appointed as the architect for the project.
