The annual EG Finance & Asset Management Summit took place in September 2018, as leaders from across the industry took to Principal Hotel in Bloomsbury for a day of debating and networking. The topic of the day saw EG ask: With 2018 seeing a flurry of fund managers selling themselves or finding new capital partners, what do they have planned with their increased financial firepower?
Jo Cowen attended the summit, where she sat on a panel to discuss the flexible work space phenomenon and whether it actually works for all buildings. Chaired by EG’s David Hatcher, IWG chief, Mark Dixon and Cushman & Wakefield’s Emma Swinnerton took to the panel along with Jo for an interesting debate on anything from flexible leases to cashflows and even pool tables.
When discussing the nature of amenities in at the office, Jo questioned whether the existence of pool or tennis tables and other leisure facilities could be better suited for residential build to rent homes rather than the workplace.
