Jo Cowen Architects have been developing this circa 300 unit apart hotel scheme, retail outlets and high quality amenity promenade to provide aspirational accommodation that affords its residents unrivalled dual aspect views across the Basin. The practice was keen to develop a façade that incorporated ‘jewel like bay windows’ within each unit.
These are encased within a strong masonry grid, built with the latest modular technology from Poland. The practice sought to utilise ‘Modern Methods of Construction’ using rational and clear setting out and efficient repetition of components. This also encompassed Sustainable Design Drivers allowing significant waste reduction through off site construction and intelligent facade design. All of which were achieved within a build cost of sub £300 per square foot on the gross build.
