The addition of a full basement to this elegant house in Fulham, along with a complete reconfiguration and refit, allowed us to revisit the formal organisation of principal rooms with bathrooms and other secondary accommodation to create generous, square spaces with views opening up along axes on plan and wonderful daylight and sunlight throughout- especially in the main basement room.
At Ground Floor the eye is drawn from the front door with its coloured jewelled glass all the way through kitchen and dining room to the garden where mature trees are set against the parkland at the rear to emphasise a beautiful project in a beautiful setting.
Our client was driven by materials and colour, as well as a wish to keep elements of the original fabric of the house where possible, and this has given us a richness of internal surfaces on which artwork has been overlaid to create a feast for the senses.
