Jo Cowen Architects are delighted with the completion of this full flat reconfiguration and refurbishment in the heart of Chelsea. The project included opening up the living spaces and rationalising the location and sizes of the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Located on the top floor of an extensive and well-appointed apartment block created a specific set of challenges with regards to structure and services coordination, and project management. Through careful design and planning, and working closely with our client and their vision, we were able to deliver an exceptional apartment full of light, life and character.
One challenge was the creation of an open plan living area that still subtly delineates the various functions of the different spaces.
A cosy seating area within the kitchen allows for informal day to day dining, with a formal dining space adjacent. Glazed screens around the kitchen allow this area to remain partially separated but visually connected to the rest of the apartment.
