Workspace

Designing successful workspace means removing the traditional connotations of the ‘commercial design’. We are designing buildings for a customer, and that customer is the same people who live in our buildings, who use the best in class retail and spend time choosing a hotel. We draw inspiration from all projects in all sectors to learn about ideas that make the balance and transition between home and workplace fluid and flexible. Gareth Smith

The office rental market is changing. There is a fresh concept of what the best office looks like, which part of the city they should be in, and what they should provide. The demand for flexible, bespoke and collaborative working practices and a desire to be part of a community is constantly increasing; this is no longer the arena of ‘Small and Medium Enterprises’ (SME’s) alone, we are seeing Blue Chip companies moving into this space.

At Jo Cowen Architects we’ve shown you can create an environment that can accommodate all; where quality, efficiency, flexible working spaces and integrated technology are all key components; not only providing greater occupancy ratios than the traditional office format, but where a fun environment contributes to staff satisfaction. Wellbeing in the workplace continues to be a hot topic in the office market and using the office to promote this is becoming standard practice.

We have a balanced and consistent approach for new build, fit-out or mixed-use workspace. All spaces can be affordable, deliverable and demographically varied. We invest our time, research and energy in understanding our clients ambition and operational model and deliver solutions that stand out.
