Architectural Assistant Part 1
Basil’s degree work has focused on restoring locality through moving around a site’s existing objects. He is interested in the ceremonial and amalgamative stages of this process. How can a glacial erratic redirect nature’s course to help rewild an artificial landscape?
His dissertation was entitled ‘The Impact of Regeneration on Social Space at Church Street Market’ and used life drawing as a performance to initiate public discussion. He compared his experience within the market’s life cycle to Westminster Council’s masterplan.
Basil has taken part in a programme for young architects in Russia, as well as the Hooke Park Design + Make program in Dorset. He graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture and completed a fine arts foundation course at Plymouth College of Art.
