Harriet first joined Jo Cowen Architects in 2016 after she had completed her Part I at Oxford Brookes University, where she graduated with a First Class Honours and was awarded by Riach Architects ‘Oxford School of Architecture’s Best Undergraduate Dissertation’.
Her interest in the city, its transient nature and the characters who dwell in it led her to Edinburgh School of Architecture for her MArch, where she graduated with Distinction. Her design thesis was situated in Palermo, where she began to formulate an understanding of the city’s history of migration through the study of religion, culture, trade and landscape. This culminated in her final design project Women’s Work, a series of programmatically syncretic spaces for marginalised women to celebrate the craft of fabric dying and weaving
Harriet also has a particular interest in architectural publications. She was the Graphic Designer on the Oxford School of Architecture’s student magazine OSA, and most recently a Content Editor on award winning student architecture magazine CRUMBLE, whilst studying at Edinburgh.
