Design Director
Mark Gorton is an architect with over 20 years experience across all RIBA stages, having leading complex residential, commercial, transport and cultural schemes across the globe. Prior to joining Jo Cowen Architects Mark was leading teams at Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners for some 13 years on a range of projects through Stages 2-6, both within the UK and abroad. Some notable projects include BBVA Bancomer Tower in Mexico City, Geneva Airport in Switzerland, Melbourne Metro State Library Station, The Leadenhall Building in London as well as other complex schemes in the UK, US, Indonesia and China. Being experienced in front end design and project delivery alike, Mark is able to predict complex construction and viability issues at conception stages and manage the teams with rigour and ease, teaching our junior team members and ensuring deliverables are met and exceeded at every stage.
In addition to architecture Mark is also an Internationally published photographer, shooting architecture, construction, people and abstract photography. He has previously been shortlisted for the Arcaid Images ‘Architectural Photographer of Year Award’, has received four commendations at the International Photography awards in New York and most recently received a Silver Award at the Prix de la Photographie in Paris.
