Architect
Rebecca first joined Jo Cowen Architects in 2017 after graduating from the University of Bath with first class honours and has since worked across a wide range of projects at the practice.
Rebecca recently completed her Part II studies at London Metropolitan University, graduating with a distinction, where her thesis project explored the idea of the figure in architecture. Coming to understand the city as a collection of figures, the project aimed to interrogate how new minimal interventions within the existing fabric of the city can borrow from these established urban characters, so as to achieve a civic presence with the lightest of touches.
During her time at London Metropolitan University Rebecca participated in a collaborative research project called RE-PRACTICE RE-VISIT RE-TURN led by the Ghent-based office Architecten De Vylder Vinck Taillieu. Through undertaking a study of Flemish architecture masters the project explored a process of design whereby part, or the whole of one project is extracted from its current situation and placed in to a new and differing context. This research culminated in an exhibition at the Flanders Architecture Institute (VAI).
